Tegenvallende rooftop en s'nachts blaffende honden Positive: Ruim appartement Negative: We wilden een rooftop ervaring met privé zwembadje, maar het zwembad had vies stilstaand water, heel onaantrekkelijk. Het appartement ligt naast een arme wijk, waar de hele nacht honden aan het blaffen zijn, waardoor je nachtrust verstoord worden.

Nice apartment that could use some improvements Positive: The apartment was beautiful, spacious and located in a safe, gated area that had a security guard all day and night. Parking was available at all times which was great as we had rented a car. We loved the layout of the apartment, the kitchen and thought it was nicely decorated. The bed was also very comfortable! Negative: Cleanliness : When we arrived, the floors were dirty (foot prints were visible on the stairs and second floor). Pool was also dirty (could have been that it was windy before our arrival - but it seemed as if it hadn’t been cleaned in a while), so we did not use it. Noise : The apartment faces a main street with a gas station and a very noisy area; dogs bark frequently at night. The walls aren’t soundproof, so we had to buy earplugs to sleep. Noise levels were especially high on weekends, and notably disruptive even for people used to city noise. Wi-fi: The internet connection was terrible. 50% of the time, the wi-fi didn’t work at all, and my friends, who had purchased data packages, also had a hard time getting signal with their esim/provider. Internet connection in Tulum in general seems to not be the best, but it was particularly bad at the apartment. Little details : it shows it is a rental apartment where no one has ever really lived. Missing finishing touches, like : no hanger for the toilet paper, very few hangers for our clothes, no hook to put your shower towel, no dish towel for the kitchen, a tiny garbage bin (especially when you have to throw all soiled toilet paper in the garbage), etc. are little things that could have been improved to make our stay better. Door lock: Midway through our stay, we were suddenly locked out. The concierge had changed the code without informing us. It took significant back-and-forth to obtain the new code, and they insisted it was due to repeated incorrect entries on our part which wasn’t the case. It felt like they were deflecting responsibility rather than acknowledging the issue. No problems after that.

Positive: The apartment was perfect for us. Stayed there with 3 persons
